Activity 4: The Message of the Value of Peace

This activity (by: Roni Gonen – Eiron) connects music to the value of peace in a universal way, focusing on one song that calls for hope and coexistence.

We chose the song “Born for Peace” to emphasize the importance of the cultural message and the meaning of peace between neighboring countries, such as Egypt.
Becoming familiar with the lyrics and the melody aims to expand the musical repertoire, as well as to emphasize the shared desire for peace, which is also reflected in the cultural symbols and stories of our neighboring country – Egypt.

The Peace Treaty

Egypt and Israel signed a peace treaty in 1979.
This agreement was the first peace treaty between Israel and its neighbors.

The peace talks that took place at Camp David were attended by Jimmy Carter, President of the USA, Anwar Sadat, President of the Republic of Egypt, and Menachem Begin, Prime Minister of Israel.

During this period, many creators composed various works that expressed our longing for peace with our neighbors; one of them, the song “Born for Peace”, was written and composed by Uzi Hitman.
