הכשרת מורים ופיתוח מקצועי
המחקרים הנערכים במסגרת מרכז חמ"ה משקפים תפיסה רחבה ומעמיקה של מקצוע ההוראה, תוך התמקדות ביחסי הגומלין שבין הכשרת מורים, התפתחותם המקצועית (Professional Development) ותפיסותיהם הפדגוגיות. המורה מוצב/ת כדמות מפתח בעיצוב סביבה לימודית מאתגרת ויצירתית (Guberman & Leikin, 2013; Leikin, 2006, 2021; Leikin & Levav-Waynberg, 2007, 2009).
גישה זו מדגישה כי פיתוח מקצועי אפקטיבי אינו מסתכם ברכישת ידע תיאורטי בלבד, אלא דורש שילוב בין למידה סיסטמתית-מערכתית להתנסות מעשית בשטח (Craft). המרכז מבסס את פעילותו על מודלים המזהים את הקשר ההיררכי בין הפוטנציאל המקצועי של המורה לבין היכולת להציב אתגר מתמטי מותאם לתלמידים.
הוראה כפרקטיקה חוקרת
המודל ההוליסטי שלנו משלב ציר אקדמי (תיאוריה ו-PCK) עם ציר אמנותי (התנסות ב-Craft). שילוב זה מאפשר למורים לווסת את האתגר במשימות פתוחות (MOTs & MSTs) ולהתאימם לכיתות הטרוגניות.
מורים הופכים לחוקרים בעצמם כאשר הם מתבקשים להפוך בעיות לימודיות סגורות למשימות פתוחות ומאתגרות, תהליך התורם רבות להתפתחותם המקצועית (Klein & Leikin, 2020; Leikin, 2015). המורה אינו רק מעביר ידע אלא מעצב סביבה מאתגרת. שילוב בין תיאוריות קלאסיות לבין ממצאים ממדעי המוח מעניק למורים את היכולת לפתח סביבות לימודיות מבוססות ראיות.
למידה תוך כדי הוראה
מחקרים מראים כי שינוי תפיסתי אצל מורים קורה רק כאשר הם מיישמים משימות מורכבות (למשל, משימות פתוחות) בכיתה בזמן אמת. המשימה היא הזרז (Catalyst) להתפתחות המקצועית.
ויסות האתגר
מורים מוכשרים להשתמש במשימות מדורגות המאפשרות ויסות עצמי של הלומד, ובכך נותנות מענה למגוון רמות בתוך כיתה הטרוגנית.
תהליך זה מוביל לכך שמורים המיישמים בפועל סביבות למידה מסוג זה, מגבשים תפיסות פדגוגיות ומתמטיות משולבות המקדמות את איכות ההוראה לאורך זמן. שילוב טכנולוגיות כגון סביבה גאומטרית דינמית (DGE) נמצא כגורם המשפיע ישירות על יכולת המורים להפוך בעיות סגורות למשימות חקירה פתוחות (Guberman & Leikin, 2013; Leikin & Levav-Waynberg, 2009; Leikin, 2015; Leikin & Grossman, 2013; Leikin & Elgrably, 2020).
יצירתיות, אתגר והקשרים תרבותיים
תפיסות המורים לגבי יצירתיות ואתגר מהוות נדבך מרכזי במחקר היישומי של המרכז. ממצאים מצביעים על כך שקיימים הבדלים תרבותיים בתפיסת היצירתיות, כאשר מחקרים השוואתיים בינלאומיים מדגישים כי תפיסות אלו שונות בין מדינות.

נוירו-קוגניציה וחדשנות בהוראה
היבט משמעותי נוסף בעבודת המרכז הוא הרחבת בסיס הידע של המורים לתחומים חדשניים כמו מדעי המוח ונוירו-קוגניציה. באמצעות סקירות רחבות היקף בתחום הנוירו-מתמטיקה, המרכז מאשש את המגמה הגוברת של שימוש בכלים אלו להבנת תהליכי עיבוד ופתרון בעיות (Leikin et al., 2013; Leikin et al., 2025).
ידע זה מאפשר למורים לגשת להוראה מתוך הבנה עמוקה יותר של עומס קוגניטיבי וייצוגים חיצוניים, ובכך להתאים את המשימות בצורה מדויקת יותר ליכולות העיבוד של התלמידים.
סיכום ומבט לעתיד
עבודת חוקרי המרכז מלמדת כי קיים פער מובנה בין המלצות תיאורטיות לפרקטיקה, הנובע מהאופי הממוקם של ידע המורים. כדי לגשר על פער זה, המרכז מציע מודלים של למידה תוך כדי הוראה.
הוכח כי שילוב משימות בעלות פתרונות מרובים אינו מעשיר רק את הידע המתמטי של התלמידים, אלא מהווה כלי פיתוח מקצועי רב עוצמה עבור המורים עצמם, המפתחים ביטחון עצמי והנאה מהוראה יצירתית ומאתגרת.

הכשרת פרחי הוראה ופיתוח מורים בפועל מתמקדים במעבר מידע סטטי למיומנויות דינמיות של פתרון וחיבור בעיות. מחקרים שבחנו את השימוש במשימות מרובות דרכי פתרון (MSTs – Multiple solution Strategy Tasks) בקרב פרחי הוראה מצביעים על כך שתהליך הלמידה מתרחש בשני צירים: הציר הסיסטמתי במסגרת האקדמית והציר האומנותי דרך ההתנסות עם תלמידים (Guberman & Leikin, 2013). נמצא כי רק כאשר מורים מיישמים בפועל משימות מורכבות בכיתה, הם מגבשים תפיסות פדגוגיות ומתמטיות משולבות המקדמות את איכות ההוראה; כלומר, המשימות משמשות כקטליזטורים לשינוי תפיסתי אצל המורים (Leikin & Levav-Waynberg, 2009). זאת ועוד, שילוב טכנולוגיות כגון סביבה גאומטרית דינמית (DGE – Dynamic Geometry Environment) נמצא כגורם המשפיע באופן ישיר על יכולת המורים להפוך בעיות סגורות למשימות חקירה פתוחות לצורך העלאת רמת האתגר המתמטי עבור תלמידיהם, מה שמעיד על חשיבות הכלים הטכנולוגיים כחלק בלתי נפרד מהפיתוח המקצועי (Leikin, 2015; Leikin & Grossman, 2013; Leikin & Elgrabli, 2020). בהקשר זה, מראה המחקר כי ניסיון ההוראה ודרגת הכיתה הם גורמים מכריעים בעיצוב הפרקטיקה הפדגוגית (Klein & Leikin, 2020).

המודלים שפותחו במרכז להכשרת מכשירי מורים (MTEs – Mathematics Teacher Educators) מדגישים את ההיררכיה שבין הפוטנציאל המתמטי של התלמיד לבין האתגר המקצועי הנדרש מהמורה, תוך שמירה על עקרונות של אתגר מתמטי המותאם לנורמות סוציו-מתמטיות (Leikin, 2018b, 2021a, 2023). מורים המשתמשים במשימות מדורגות ובחיבור בעיות מצליחים לווסת את רמת האתגר בכיתות הטרוגיות, ובכך נותנים מענה הן לתלמידים מצטיינים והן לכלל התלמידים (Leikin, 2014, 2016, 2019d, 2021a; Cai et al., 2026).

הכשרת פרחי הוראה ופיתוח מורים בפועל מתמקדים במעבר מידע סטטי למיומנויות דינמיות של פתרון וחיבור בעיות. מחקרים שבחנו את השימוש במשימות מרובות דרכי פתרון (MSTs – Multiple solution Strategy Tasks) בקרב פרחי הוראה מצביעים על כך שתהליך הלמידה מתרחש בשני צירים: הציר הסיסטמתי במסגרת האקדמית והציר האומנותי דרך ההתנסות עם תלמידים (Guberman & Leikin, 2013). נמצא כי רק כאשר מורים מיישמים בפועל משימות מורכבות בכיתה, הם מגבשים תפיסות פדגוגיות ומתמטיות משולבות המקדמות את איכות ההוראה; כלומר, המשימות משמשות כקטליזטורים לשינוי תפיסתי אצל המורים (Leikin & Levav-Waynberg, 2009). זאת ועוד, שילוב טכנולוגיות כגון סביבה גאומטרית דינמית (DGE – Dynamic Geometry Environment) נמצא כגורם המשפיע באופן ישיר על יכולת המורים להפוך בעיות סגורות למשימות חקירה פתוחות לצורך העלאת רמת האתגר המתמטי עבור תלמידיהם, מה שמעיד על חשיבות הכלים הטכנולוגיים כחלק בלתי נפרד מהפיתוח המקצועי (Leikin, 2015; Leikin & Grossman, 2013; Leikin & Elgrabli, 2020). בהקשר זה, מראה המחקר כי ניסיון ההוראה ודרגת הכיתה הם גורמים מכריעים בעיצוב הפרקטיקה הפדגוגית (Klein & Leikin, 2020).
היבט משמעותי נוסף בעבודת המרכז הוא הרחבת בסיס הידע של המורים לתחומים חדשניים כמו מדעי המוח ונוירו-קוגניציה. באמצעות סקירות רחבות היקף בתחום הנוירו-מתמטיקה, המרכז מאשש את המגמה הגוברת של שימוש בכלים אלו להבנת תהליכי עיבוד ופתרון בעיות, ובכך מאפשר למורים לגשת להוראה מתוך הבנה עמוקה יותר של עומס קוגניטיבי וייצוגים חיצוניים (Leikin et al., 2013a; Leikin et al., 2025a).
תפיסות המורים לגבי יצירתיות ואתגר מהוות נדבך מרכזי במחקר היישומי של המרכז, ונבחנות לא רק במישור האישי אלא גם בהקשר תרבותי רחב. ממצאים מצביעים על כך שקיימים הבדלים תרבותיים בתפיסת היצירתיות, כאשר מחקרים השוואתיים בינלאומיים מדגישים כי תפיסות אלו שונות בין מדינות. בכולן ניכר כי סביבה המעודדת גמישות מחשבתית ומקוריות חיונית למימוש פוטנציאל הלומדים, וכי פיתוח המיומנות להוראה יצירתית הוא תהליך רב-ממדי הכולל גם יכולת תכנון (Leikin et al., 2013c; Lev-Zamir & Leikin, 2011).
המודלים שפותחו במרכז להכשרת מכשירי מורים (MTEs – Mathematics Teacher Educators) מדגישים את ההיררכיה שבין הפוטנציאל המתמטי של התלמיד לבין האתגר המקצועי הנדרש מהמורה, תוך שמירה על עקרונות של אתגר מתמטי המותאם לנורמות סוציו-מתמטיות (Leikin, 2018b, 2021a, 2023). מורים המשתמשים במשימות מדורגות ובחיבור בעיות מצליחים לווסת את רמת האתגר בכיתות הטרוגיות, ובכך נותנים מענה הן לתלמידים מצטיינים והן לכלל התלמידים (Leikin, 2014, 2016, 2019d, 2021a; Cai et al., 2026).
לסיכום, עבודת חוקרי המרכז מלמדת כי קיים פער מובנה בין המלצות תיאורטיות לפרקטיקה, הנובע מהאופי הממוקם של ידע המורים (Leikin & Levav-Waynberg, 2007). כדי לגשר על פער זה, המרכז מציע מודלים של למידה תוך כדי הוראה, כפי שניתן לראות בניתוח התפתחות הידע של מורים סביב נושאים ספציפיים כמו הנפה של ארטוסטנס או שימוש בסימטריה ככלי לפתרון בעיות (Leikin, 2006; Leikin, 2019c). הוכח כי שילוב משימות בעלות פתרונות מרובים אינו מעשיר רק את הידע המתמטי של התלמידים דרך ויסות האתגר בכיתות הטרוגיות, אלא מהווה כלי פיתוח מקצועי רב עוצמה עבור המורים עצמם, המפתחים ביטחון עצמי והנאה מהוראה יצירתית ומאתגרת (Cai et al., 2026; Leikin, 2019d; Klein & Leikin, 2020; Lev-Zamir & Leikin, 2011; Levav-Waynberg & Leikin, 2012).
