הבחנה מושגית ומתודולוגית

המחקר במרכז חמ"ה מבחין באופן מושגי ומתודולוגי בין מחוננות כללית (G – General Giftedness) לבין הצטיינות מתמטית (EM – Mathematical Excellence).

מחקרים רב-ממדיים מדגישים כי מדובר במאפיינים קוגניטיביים שונים במהותם, אשר משפיעים באופן דיפרנציאלי על עיבוד מידע ופתרון בעיות (Leikin et al., 2013, 2017; Paz-Baruch et al., 2022).

היבט פדגוגי

בהיבט הפדגוגי, היצירתיות המתמטית משמשת כגשר בין מומחיות למחוננות. נמצא כי תלמידים מחוננים המצטיינים במתמטיקה מפגינים רמות יצירתיות גבוהות יותר במשימות פתוחות, אך היכולת לממש פוטנציאל זה תלויה בסוג המשימה – כגון שימוש במשימות מרובות בדרכי פתרון (MSTs – Multiple solution Strategy Tasks) ובמבנה סביבת הלמידה (Leikin & Lev, 2013; Lev & Leikin, 2016; Miller Markovitz et al., 2025).

מתודולוגיה נוירו-קוגניטיבית: EEG ו-ERP

המרכז משתמש בכלים אלקטרו-פיזיולוגיים מתקדמים – EEG (רישום גלי מוח) ו-ERP (פוטנציאלים קשורים לאירוע) – כדי למפות פעילות מוחית בזמן אמת. ה-EEG מספק תמונה כוללת של הפעילות החשמלית במוח, וה-ERP מאפשר לבודד תגובות ספציפיות לגירויים מוגדרים. ממצאים אלו מאתגרים את תיאוריית "היעילות העצבית" הקלאסית, כמתואר בתיבות להלן (Shaul et al., 2013; Leikin et al., 2014, 2016; Waisman et al., 2023).

⚡ יעילות עצבית

תלמידים מצטיינים מפגינים יעילות גבוהה בעיבוד אוטומטי, אך מגייסים משאבים קוגניטיביים רחבים יותר בהתמודדות עם אתגרים (Leikin et al., 2013; Waisman et al., 2016).

👁 זיכרון ועיבוד חזותי

הצטיינות מתמטית נשענת על זיכרון חזותי-מרחבי וזיהוי תבניות, בשונה ממחוננות כללית הקשורה לזיכרון פונולוגי (Leikin et al., 2013; Paz-Baruch et al., 2015, 2016).

📐 גיאומטריה מול אלגברה

גיאומטריה דורשת עומס זיכרון עבודה גבוה יותר מאלגברה, בשל הצורך במעבר בין ייצוגים חזותיים לסמליים (Leikin et al., 2014; Waisman et al., 2012).

דינמיקת פעילות חשמלית (ERP)

יעילות עצבית (נוירונלית): תלמידים בעלי יכולות יוצאות דופן (S-MG) מפגינים דפוסי פעילות יעילה יותר המשתקפת במוליכות נמוכה ואוטומציה של תהליכי עיבוד, אך מגייסים משאבים קוגניטיביים נרחבים בעת פתרון בעיות מאתגרות ברמה גבוהה, בניגוד לתאוריות קלאסיות של חיסכון באנרגיה (Leikin et al., 2013; Waisman et al., 2016, 2023).

הפרקטיקה הפדגוגית שלנו אינה עומדת בפני עצמה, אלא נגזרת ישירות מהממצאים הנוירו-קוגניטיביים:

🧩 ניהול עומס קוגניטיבי

מאחר שגיאומטריה דורשת עומס קוגניטיבי גבוה (מעבר בין ייצוגים), אנו מפתחים סביבות למידה המפחיתות את עומס הקשב ומאזנות אותו באמצעות ויזואליזציה. התאמת סביבת הלמידה ליכולת עיבוד המידע של התלמיד, ובנייה נכונה של המטלות, מאפשרת פירוק מטלות מורכבות ומניעת עומס קוגניטיבי מיותר (Shaul et al., 2013).

🎯 דיפרנציאציה מושכלת

ההבנה ש-EM ו-G הם מנגנונים שונים מאפשרת לנו להתאים משימות MST (מרובות אסטרטגיות) לסוג המצוינות של התלמיד. באמצעות התאמת המשימות הפדגוגיות על בסיס פרופילים נוירו-קוגניטיביים אישיים, אנו מבטיחים מענה מדויק לצרכיו הייחודיים של כל תלמיד בכיתה הטרוגנית (Leikin & Lev, 2013; Miller Markovitz et al., 2025).

👨‍🎓 תיווך מורים

מורים כסוכני תיווך המגשרים בין הידע התיאורטי לפרקטיקה הכיתתית, מבצעים התאמה של ההוראה לתרבות הלימודית ולמגבלות המערכת. ככאלו, המורה משתמש בהבנה נוירו-קוגניטיבית כדי לגשר בין המדע לבין הלמידה בשטח, ולכוון, לתמוך ולעודד את התפתחות התלמיד (Leikin, 2021; Leikin & Levav-Waynberg, 2007).
