Pedagogical Research and Development Programs
Range Center leads a variety of programs that provide a broad pedagogical framework for mathematics education in Israel – from elementary to high school. The center’s philosophy is based on a multi-dimensional approach, viewing the teacher’s professional expertise as the key to promoting students’ understanding and motivation.
The Uniqueness of the Framework
For the student: Stepped task database, interactive applets, and differentiated learning.
For the teacher: Learning communities, analysis of critical incidents, and development of pedagogical flexibility.
For the system: Linguistic accessibility (Arabic/Hebrew) and solutions from elementary to high school.
Students – Pedagogical Principles and Task Database Structure
The center’s student programs are based on stepped task database, adapted to a variety of abilities through varying levels of difficulty. Their main goal is to connect students to the world of mathematics through relevant, open, and multi-solution tasks, which enable differentiated learning and develop mathematical thinking in broad contexts.
The tasks are designed for online work and are accompanied by dynamic applets, with the option for offline work if necessary. As part of the center’s educational philosophy of accessibility for all students in Israel, most of the databases are also available in Arabic.

Teachers – Professional Development and Applied-Research Approach
The center’s teacher programs reflect a multi-dimensional applied-research approach, which provides a professional response to teaching needs at all levels of education – from elementary school to high school. These programs are based on up-to-date academic knowledge and offer applied pedagogical tools, with the aim of supporting teachers in promoting the quality of teaching and learning in the classroom.
